Hello.
I've just read an excellent news about the new Vocalizer Expressive version 3.0 for NVDA and it's features, there are 70 new voices. I'm wondering if Apple will be bringing these voices in the next release of iOS and Mac OS to VoiceOver users,

facebook crashing on iPhone four
Hi everyone. I've noticed recently that my 32gb iPhone4 I can open the facebook app once, to check things like notifications, of which I have to look because they don't get pushed into the notification center. But if I hear, Facebook, two new items, I click it and it takes a few minutes, then it does the sound like the app is closed, and that's it. I don't know if this happens on anyone else's devices. And if I click the app switcher, it's sitting in there.
audio recording app
I am looking for an app wich can record directly to mp3/wave/ogg and others perhaps, wich is accessible, wich allow to shair files via ITunes file shairing,/FaceBook/dropbox and an app wich is not a studio/music app like bossjock or garageband. It must be something lighter. I have tried "mp3 recorder, mini recorder" and "smart recorder" but they don't completely meet this criteria. Any suggestions? I tried to brouze the app directory but either I mist it or its not yet there? List recorder won't do it either, as I don't want to mix audio with text. Its nearly like using a portable stand alone recorder but just to allow recording high quality and to bbypass the need to ssync/copy the files to the ITunes library and from there to other places.
Couple of Mac questions.
Hi all. Ok here are the two questions one of which is driving me crazy. If i'm in Yourufukuru and I get a mention or message, the notification center pops up.I close it and the menu bar stays up. I have to command tab around to get rid of it. How can I stop this behavior? I've checked, and the twitter share button is in the notification center, which I want, so I can share websites and things, but i really don't want ot to keep saying, mention by, message from... Oh the dialog is mention by, the name, then close button or sow button.
Here's the second question. How do you mention, someone on facebook? Not tag them, but mention them? You used to be able to write, @ Siobhan and it would find the person you were looking for. I don't know how todo it and i'd liek to if possible. I knowhow to tag someone with the button, so I'd like to learn this too. I'm also using the main site, not the mobile site. Thanks for any help. by the way, night owl is not in the notification center, just the twitter share button, as well as the twitter app and it says allerts. Thanks for reading this far sorry it got jumbled.

i lost my jailbreak and am trying to get it back
Hi. I have an iPhone 4s running 6.1.3. It used to be on 6.1.2 and jailbroken. I tried to keep it on 6.1.2 so that I would not lose my jailbreak but it was bricked and would not turn on. So I had to restore it with iTunes. I have been reading some stuff on the internet trying to figure out how to either jailbreak 6.1.3 or downgrade to 6.1.2 and jailbreak. From what I can tell, it looks like older devices running 6.1.3 can be downgraded or use a 6.1.3 tethered jailbreake but the iPhone 4s can not take advantage of either option. If I am wrong, please tell me how to downgrade or do a jailbreak for 6.1.3. evasi0n does not work on 6.1.3 and I read that they are not going to update evasi0n until iOS 7 is out because they did find some exploits that would work on 6.1.3, but do not want to waste the exploits on a minor iOS update and then have apple patch the holes before they release iOS 7, which will be a more major update. I also tried to jailbreak or downgrade with redsn0w, but it does not support the iPhone 4s for downgrading or jailbreaking. Then I downloaded iOS 6.1.2 from ipswdownloader.com and put it in the software updates folder in iTunes and then restored my phone. It installed 6.1.3 again, not the 6.1.2 ipsw that I had put in the software updates folder. I do not want to wait for iOS 7 to come out. I googled the release date and found out that it will not be released until September. Please help if you can. Also, if you know anybody who may be able to help me, please forward this email to them and give them my email address, which is jessicabrown531@gmail.com. Thank you.
Auto-Advance Mode on a Refreshabraille 18
Hello everyone!
I don't know if this is possible, but hopefully someone will know the answer.
I know that on certain operating systems and with certain Braille displays, there is an "auto advance" mode for reading texts, books, etc. For example, there is often a key combination that will automatically pan the braille display so that you don't have to keep doing it manually.
I have a Refreshabraille 18 from APH and was wondering if there was an auto advance mode for iPad operation. I have consulted the manual but can find no references to this topic.
Thanks in advance for any help.

This, like most of Maverick Software's graphic based food games, is very playable with Voice Over all though it does involve some turning off and on. You can select from liquids, ice cream, fruit and a mixture of syrups, candies, nuts and other things to put into your drink. Your blender is center screen. When you select a liquid, turn VO off, touch and hold the center of the screen and you will hear it pour, let go when you have enough, a little or a lot. When you have added all your ingredients, adding the solid ones by turning vo off and touching the centre of the screen to add them, simpley double tap and hold the pulse, blend or liquify button to mix your drink. The rest is easy.

Free Bible
Hello, my name is *Philly Eye and I’m looking for a truly free bible app that isn’t cluttered and easy to use and deal with. The “Bible,” app from: Live church TV; isn’t as excellent as it once was.
Can anyone advise me or point me towards a really good free or even paid Bible app? Seems that VO users are getting a raw deal, usability is going downhill with all the updating.

Big Brain Quiz
Hello,
My name is Victor Konstantinov and I want to present to you our quiz game Big Brain Quiz.
It is a classic trivia game with questions and answers. The game is played on rounds, where one round consists of mostly 10 questions. You have 40 seconds to answer on every question. Mostly the given possible answers are 4, on some questions they are 2 (true or false) or enter text in the field. We know that on questions where the answer has to be written with the keyboard is hard to do in the 40 seconds window, so we included a Hint system. One of the hints stops the timer for the current question and you can take you time thinking and writing. For more detailed information about the Hints and other features of the game I highly recommends to read the Help in the game.
Originally when the game was made (first version of the game was released on September 10th 2010) we didn't have any plans for improving it for blind and low-vision users. After almost 3 years and many updates of the game, we received some very kind messages and feedback from a few blind people. And we decided that we can try and improve the game and make it more accessible for them. For You.
The game may not be perfect. There can be some flaws here and there. I'll be more than glad to hear what did you think about it, how we can improve it and what did you like.
Big Brain Quiz is free to download from Apple App Store and both iPad and iPhone devices are supported.
Thank you for your time.

using Improvox, you will need Voiceover enabled at times, and disabled at others.
At app launch you will hear vocoded music, disable Voiceover and tap the screen once. You will hear music fade down and loop will stop. Now, enable Voiceover and you can explore several of the apps controls. Buttons show, "Highlited", to show when a control is selected.
To enable harmoney disable Voiceover and move your finger up the left side of the screen toward the left top corner. As you sing, you will hear harmoney parts rise in volume through your headphones. Now enable Voiceover to continue exploring controls. The, "Left and right" buttons, change keys by half step. The "Mood happy/sad" buttons change from major to minor. Disable Voiceover again, and move your finger up the middle of the screen moving from middle upwards enables trim/lesley fx, moving middle down, enables echo/delay. Moving to the right still, you have reverb fx.
Double tapping on right side of screen, (with voiceover disabled) will change fx patches.

I've used Netflix on my Iphone in the past which is working fine. However, Ive noticed that I can't get the same accessibility hwn using my Mac. The website shows up, but I can't scrub, pause og do anything when a movie or a serie is selected. I can only start an episode and let it play.
If any of you know how to make the website more accessible please let me know. :)

Compass direction in Nightjar and Papa Sangre
Hello, in looking at the walkthroughs for both of these games, they say to orient the compass properly, and double-tapping to get the game menu. The directions about proper game play are very specific about how many steps to take and then turn to a certain direction. The walkthroughs say to use the lines on the direction wheel, and I know that many of the users have beaten both games, but was that by skill or by luck with that compass? I have no problem orienting to the sensor, but still don't know what direction I'm facing at any time. Thanks.

iTunes 11
Tues 11 is a big change. I have got things back mostly to an iTunes 10 appearance, with sidebars, lists instead of grids, etc.
Big question, though: When I am in the iTunes store, and a list view of song purchases choices for an musical group, I can navigate to the price to buy the song. However, it does not seem to be a button, just text. Yet sighted folks can click on it and make a purchase. There does not seem to be a menu comman, either.
Anyone know how to do this?
Thank you.

Replacement for Star Wars Lightsaber duel?
Apparently this app is no longer available. Too bad since I was hoping I could play Lightsaber battles with my nephew using it. There are a ton of Lightsaber and laser sword apps in the app store, but I would like to ask if anyone has specific experience with any of them. Most are free and thus not much of a risk, but some are not and I don't want to waste money on them if they aren't accessible. Any reviews or info on which apps to avoid would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Most of the controls are accessible. This allows you to capture a track and get info about it afterwards. You can then download the map for the track you just captured. Currently I needed sighted help to predownload a map. The info displayed on the map itself is not yet accessible , however I contacted the developer and they are working on this. However, one thing I wanted was the simple capability to capture a hike that I do and get statistics about it and be able to follow the track again. This app gives me the capture capability and very limited voice over guicance to follow the track. The develooper also said they would see what they can do to improve the feedback when using a guided track. the developer seems interested in making this app more useful to blind hikers and welcomes feedback. I would l like other Applevis users to give their thougts to the vendor.
